Board of Directors
Abbeyfield Vancouver is supported by a volunteer Board of Directors who provide governance, oversight, and strategic direction for our organization. Their combined experience and commitment help ensure Abbeyfield remains a welcoming, well-managed home that supports independent living for seniors.
A Message From Larry
Having been born on the leading edge of the baby boomer generation (1946), I grew up in Montreal where I remained until I retired in 2013 and moved to Vancouver with my wife Dianne.
From studying accounting and marketing at Sir George Williams University, currently known as Concordia University, my career path led me from the fashion industry to the pulp and paper industry, to a stint with the federal government to industrial sales and management to establishing a private partnership and finally settling into a career in commercial brokerage where I remained until retirement.
My involvement in social endeavours include fund raising for various charitable organisations, Canadian Red Cross, Montreal civil defense and a long tenure with the Free Masons, volunteer and past president of JSABC, SPCBC and of course Abbeyfield Houses of Vancouver Society and Abbeyfield Canada.
As long as I am blessed with good health, my plan is to continue in my volunteering endeavours and advocating for free home health care for seniors as a viable and economically feasible option to long term care.
