Supporting Smiles From Heaven

Abbeyfield Vancouver is proud to have supported the Smiles From Heaven initiative, organized by the Smiles From Heaven Cookie Foundation in partnership with the Nestara Society for Community Wellness.

This initiative, which distributes home-baked cookies to individuals in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, aims to foster connection, compassion, and community resilience. Our residents contributed by preparing, packaging, and labeling baked goods that were shared at community outreach events.

We were pleased to receive a letter of appreciation from the organizers, acknowledging the impact of our participation. According to the Foundation, over 30,000 cookies have been distributed to date, helping to spark meaningful conversations, support individuals in recovery, and build stronger community ties—one small gesture at a time.

Abbeyfield Vancouver remains committed to contributing to community wellness initiatives where possible, and we are grateful for the opportunity to take part in a program that brings warmth and kindness to others.
